“SEO Company” Reveals Keyword Strategy

Approaching Keywords the Company Way

You’ve created your site and now looking for traffic. So What is the most effective SEO Strategy out there today.

Luckily, there are two things that we can do to even the playing field in our favour.

1. Develop a scalable and repeatable strategy for delivering the four objectives.

2. Develop tools that implement that strategy.

Our strategy involves around three (actually four… but the fourth is beyond the scope of this blueprint) hierarchical pyramids. They are:

1. The Keyword Pyramid

2. The Content Pyramid

3. The Backlink Pyramid

(4. The Domain Pyramid)

The Keyword Pyramid

Our typical Keyword Pyramid will have 4 layers.

Layer 1: The Niche Keyword e.g. school shoes

Layer 2: 3 – 8 ‘high’ volume long tail keywords derived from the niche keyword e.g. black school shoes.

Layer 3: 3 – 30 ‘medium’ volume long tail keywords derived from each of the ‘high’ volume keywords in Layer 2 e.g. nike black school shoes.

Layer 4: 3 – 30 ‘low’ volume long tail keywords derived from each of the ‘medium’ volume keywords in Layer 2 e.g. nike black school shoes online, or just lower volume long tails derived from the ‘high’ volume keywords in Layer 2 e.g. cute black school shoes

I strongly recommend using a Keyword Digger for this task. Uberword and the google planner are both suitable

Some SEO points to consider When Choosing Keywords

High, ‘medium’ and ‘low’ are all relative. The important thing is that the keywords in Layer 2 should be higher volume keywords than those in Layer 3, which in turn should be higher volume than those in Layer 4.

Ideally, on each layer – you should have a mixture of leading Phrase Match, trailing Phrase Match, Broad Match and LSI long tail keywords.
Some of the long tail keywords might show low or zero volume in Google Keyword Planner. Do not worry about that.

If you go with the minimum number of keywords for each of the four layers then you’d have:

1 keyword on Layer 1 + 3 keywords on Layer 2 + 9 (i.e. 3 x 3) keywords on Layer 3 + 27 (i.e. 9 x 3) keywords on Layer 4 – giving you a total of 40 target keywords.

And if you with the maximum number of keywords for each of the four layers then you’d have:

1 keyword on Layer 1 + 8 keywords on Layer 2 + 240 (i.e. 8 x 30) keywords on Layer 3 + 7,200 (i.e. 240 x 30) keywords on Layer 4 – giving you a total of 7,449 target keywords.

This means that you can have anywhere between 40 target keywords and over 7,000 target keywords. So, it is entirely up to you how big or small you want to make your website.

You might also want to have fewer or more layers than the recommended four. That’s perfectly fine.

If you want to knock out a smaller-sized Authority site very quickly – then go for a number at the lower end of the scale. However, if you want to take your time and build a massive Authority side then rest assured that you can use the same Formula to accomplish that.

Also, don’t forget that you can (and should) build more than one Authority site. So, some can be small, others medium-sized and then a few can be huge. It’s entirely up to you.

The work that goes into a good SEO program is long and requires skill to create the right mix of keywords and anchor texts. A good SEO company can create an amazing amount of leads to your site.
The question to ask is can your business handle the leads and at what rate are you converting your leads. These figures will allow you to set a budget when looking to employ a good company with sound seo results
